Order under Section 119(2)(b) of the Income-tax Act,1961

In exercise of its powers under section 119(2) (b) of the Income-tax Act1961, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) hereby extends the time limits for filling ITR-V forms relating to income-tax returns for AY. 2010-11 filed electronically (without digital signature) on or after 1st April 2110. ITR-V forms can now be filed upto31st July, 2011 or within a period of 120 days from the data of uploading of the electronic return data, whichever is later. This direction is issued to mitigate the hardship and grievances of the tax payers who have been prevented by reasonable causes to file the ITR-V in time:

PRESS RELEASE

The Centra’ Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has decided to extend the time limit for ftling  ITR-V forms relating to income-tax returns for A.Y 2010-11 filed electronically (without digital signature) on or after 1st April, 2010. These. ITR-V forms can now be filed upto 31 July, 2011 or within a period of 120 ia f ho date o uploading of the electronic return data whichever is later,

2.The relaxation has been made since there are still a large number of electronic returns relating to A.Y. 2010-11 which had been filled on or befor The due date but for which the ITR-V forms have not yet been received at the Centralised Processing Centre (CPC), Bangalore, These taxpayers are being given a final opportunity to send ITR-V forms to the CPC, Bangalore by the date mentioned in para 1 above.

3. The ITR-V forms should be sent by ordinary post or Speed post to post Bag No.1 Electronic City Post Office, Bangalore 560100 (Karnataka)
